Eider ducks live primarily in Iceland. The harsh climatic conditions there have ensured that the plumage of the birds have excellent thermal insulation. Thus, the highest quality down that occurs in nature is feather-light with optimal warming properties at the same time. The fine 8x10 (or 9x11) quilting ensures that the high-quality filling does not slip in the blanket and an even distribution of heat is guaranteed.
